  • A Candidates Forum allows candidates seeking public office to express their views openly so community members can understand their positions and make informed voting choices.

  • Format: Moderator Format: Moderator

    • The Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce will conduct the public forum and an unbiased event moderator will pose questions to the candidates. These questions will be drafted by the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee.
    • If sufficient time is available, questions from the audience may be given to the moderator.
    • The Forum will be taped by Public Cable Television Authority from 6pm to 8pm.
  • General Forum Rules: General Forum Rules:

    General Forum Rules:

    • Opening statements of 2 minutes will allow candidates to introduce themselves
    • Topics will be a wide range of issues of general interest to the public.
    • Answers to these questions will be limited to two minutes. Each candidate will be given the chance to answer each question. 
    • Order of appearance of candidates will be chosen at random. 
    • The Candidates will have 1 minute each for closing statements.
