I joined the Chamber when I started my business in 2013. The Chamber gave me a reason to talk to and get to know the community that I was interested in doing business with. My company services businesses and property managers that are interested in the best Customer Service and product in the background screening industry.
What has been the most valuable aspect of your Fountain Valley Chamber membership?The Chamber has allowed me to develop relationships that have helped my company expand into a successful start-up. Since I work with HR or Risk Management Departments, my involvement with the Chamber has given me the opportunity to find introductions to these department heads. Membership has also given me a voice in community affairs that might be of concern for my industry.
What advice would you give to other Chamber Members?
Get involved!!! People want to do business with people they know & trust! Join a committee for something, be it the Government Affairs Committee, the Ambassador team or just a short term committee (8-10 weeks) like the Chamber Challenge Group that plans the annual softball game between the Chamber (businesses) and the City employees. These groups will help you meet the people that could use your service or check out your store or restaurant.

Fountain Valley has the wonderful advantage of having a Community Foundation that services all non-profit groups in the city. I am involved with the Activities Committee that volunteers to work the City events such as SummerFest, Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Easter Egg Hunt, Poker Tournaments, etc. This is a great way to meet consumers within this city.
